Mnemonics are a form of studying that help you remember a large amount of inofrmation quickly. There are a couple different techinques
For instance let’s say I ask you to remember the number 867,5309 and then two days later ask you to repeat it. There’s a high probability you might have forgotten. But say I ask you to remember this number: 867-5309. I’m willing to bet that if you read that and have ever heard this song that you not only heard the melody but probably also the rest of the chorus lyrics and in a few hours or a few days or even decades later you could recall the number. Congratulations you have just chunked! Breaking up the string of numbers into smaller segments makes it easier to remember
This is a common technique in music and very useful in many areas of life.
Another example of Menmonics would be an Acrostic. This is when you create a sentence where the first letter of every word stands for what you want to remember. A famous example is the lines of a musical staff treble clef being Every Good Boy Does Fine. So in the picture to the right the note labeled 1 would be a G and you based on the acrostic you could know what next line would be.
An Acronym is creating a word to remember a sentence or phrase. So when someone says another person is the GOAT they are referring to the Greatest Of All Time.
A famous musical example of Acrostic and Acronym is the classic C.R.E.A.M. by Wu-Tang Clan.
